Two weeks ago we had a class parent, Mrs. Morgan, come in and teach us about germs! She spoke to the children about how germs are spread, taught the kids how to prevent the spread of germs through proper hand washing technique and gave them a quick demonstration showing the germs that could be on their hands using a black light.
I must say I think the demonstration worked! We always wash our hands before eating but Mrs. Grant and I normally need to ask the kids to go back and wash their hands better (they tended to just splash water on them and say they had washed their hands!). Now it looks like the kids are prepping for surgery when they wash their hands-talk about a major 360!
Below please find a few pictures of Mrs. Morgan's presentation. And once again thanks Mrs. Morgan!
The kiddos listening to Mrs. Morgan about how germs are spread. |
The kids put a powder on their hands that when rubbed in would show them all of the germs on their hands when put under a black light. |
The kids applied their new found hand washing technique and them came back to check and see if they washed off all of the germs by putting their hands under the black light once more. |
